Immediate Release Thursday, August 13, 2026: Thanks to a $128,000 OTF Grant from the Ontario Government, Midland Cultural Centre Strengthens Community Connections with Marketing Infrastructure Upgrades MIDLAND, ON – On Thursday, MPP Jill Dunlop joined representatives from the Midland Cultural Centre (MCC) to recognize the impact of a $128,000 Seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), an agency of the Government of Ontario. The six-month grant, awarded in late 2025, supported a series of capital improvements that have modernized the Centre's facilities, strengthened its ability to engage the community, and enhanced the visitor experience. “The Midland Cultural Centre plays an important role in bringing people together through arts, culture, and community programming,” said Jill Dunlop, MPP for Simcoe North. “This Ontario Trillium Foundation investment has helped modernize the Centre’s communications, displays, projection equipment and electrical infrastructure, while improving the visibility of upcoming events and activities. These upgrades will create a more engaging and welcoming experience for visitors and provide the Centre with better tools to promote its programs and serve the community. I am pleased to see this funding strengthening such an important cultural gathering place for Midland and the surrounding region.” The OTF-funded project included the installation of a new outdoor LED marquee, digital display screens in the building's vestibules and atrium, mobile floor displays, upgraded projection systems in Rotary Hall and the Atrium, electrical infrastructure improvements, and repairs to exterior poster boxes. These enhancements allow the MCC to showcase performances, exhibitions, workshops, community events, and local artists more effectively while creating a more welcoming and informative experience for the more than 75,000 people who visit the Centre each year. “The Midland Cultural Centre is delighted to receive this funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
