BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Midland Cultural Centre is currently seeking dynamic candidates to serve on our Board of Directors. We are seeking applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and skill sets.

Who Are We?

The Midland Cultural Centre (“MCC”) is a not for profit, charitable organization. Situated in the downtown core of the Town of Midland, the MCC is the hub of culture in the region and a focal point for many cultural activities, welcoming 70,000 visitors a year. The Centre is an accessible state-of-the art facility featuring Rotary Hall, a 274-seat multi-purpose space; an Indigenous Art Gallery; the Noopimiing Creations Gift Shop; and a Café. The MCC is also home to Quest Art School + Gallery with exhibition spaces and classrooms, and to Huronia Players Community Theatre Group, with a 121-seat raked theatre. Our Mission is to foster and promote arts and culture in a self-sustaining, inspiring and multi-functional year-round facility. Our Vision is to create engagement, inspiration, entertainment and education in  arts and culture for residents and visitors in the Heart of Georgian Bay.

Whom Are We Seeking?

The MCC is looking for leadership volunteers who have professional work experience with a background in one or more of the following areas:

  • financial accounting

  • charity fundraising

  • marketing and promotions

  • digital marketing and social media management

  • human resources

  • facilities/asset management

  • education and learning

  • systems management

  • volunteer recruitment and retention

  • strategic planning

  • computer/tech/digital networks (wifi and internet systems)

  • digital app and platform integration experience

  • data set building and analysis

  • professional musician

The MCC prioritizes equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion, reflecting the lived experiences and peoples of our local communities. We hope to recruit candidates representing the linguistic, gender, age, and cultural diversity of North Simcoe. We are dreaming big, and are looking for big picture thinkers, candidates with the time and passion to make a significant commitment, and individuals with the ability to network and make connections.
