Call: Expressions of Interest from Artist-Educators for 2026-2027 Season The Midland Cultural Centre is seeking to expand its roster of artist-educators providing community programming both at the MCC and in the community. We invite applications and expressions of interest from individuals with significant formal training, family-based or community-centred learning and/or professional experience in any artform including, but not limited to: dance or creative movement, acting / theatrical production and storytelling, music (instrumental and/or vocal), creative writing, handcrafting, multi-disciplinary and performance art. Applications from candidates with expertise in a form of art which is not listed are also welcome to apply. We would like to hear from artist-educators who are genuinely motivated by teaching, mentoring and connecting with people through cultural experiences and learning. Qualifications: •Excellent interpersonal skills (public speaking, writing, virtual, phone, in-person relationship building). •Ability to reliably facilitate group workshops at agreed-to times, punctuality and reliability. •Awareness and sensitivity to the various cultures represented in North Simcoe along with a commitment to inclusivity, equality, diversity, and accessibility. •Passion for engaging with the local community through arts and culture. •Recognized as an expert in a specific artistic discipline or cultural practice, and willingness to welcome and instruct beginners. •Ability to articulate personal teaching style, ability to work with learners in a variety of age groups. •Evidence of previous interest in teaching others and teaching experience required. Wage: Range from $18 - $50 per teaching hour, to be negotiated according to what is required for the artform, and the skills and qualifications of the artist-educator. Workshops will take place: At mutually agreed times, generally occurring in “seasons” ie: Fall (October – November); Winter: (January – March); Spring: (March – June); Summer (June – August).
